Complete beginner? Perfect — everyone starts here.
Never practiced a single strike? Foundation assumes nothing. We teach the stance before the kick, the breath before the power.
Mabu · 马步 — the horse stance
A guided path that takes you from zero to skill that sticks. Filmed with the care of an old tradition, trained at your own rhythm. No annual contract, no endless video library — just training that works. Month by month.
Why Mabu
Learning Kung Fu online usually comes with two catches: a long commitment — and, at the end, a mountain of videos you're left alone with. Mabu is built differently: a guided path instead of a collection, one teacher who takes you along step by step, and no long-term obligation. You stay as long as it moves you forward.
How it works
From the very first week you train everything that belongs together — stance, strikes, kicks, forms, strength, breath. Nothing waits its turn. Every session joins the pieces into a whole, and all of it grows with you across the three months.
From a horse stance that no longer shakes to moving powerfully from one stance into the next.
From clean fundamentals to combinations with clear intent.
Piece by piece, week by week, up to your first complete Shaolin form.
The strength and supple joints to train hard and stay healthy.
The part most apps leave out — here it's in every session, with a meditation timer for your quiet practice.
Starting from zero, after three months you'll command a complete form, hold a deep stance without shaking, strike and kick with control — and be visibly stronger and fitter. You will know what Kung Fu is.
Your pace, your plan
No daily obligation, no rigid plan. You choose your rhythm — a few sessions a week, mornings or evenings, however it fits your life. Each session takes 30–45 minutes. The path stays clear; you set the pace.
The path doesn't end after three months
After that, it continues — deeper forms, weapons fundamentals, advanced conditioning, partner drills. And Mabu isn't just for beginners: experienced Shaolin martial artists train here too — to sharpen forms, drill fundamentals at a high level, and keep a regular practice when the temple or school is too far away. However far along you are, there's a next level. And it's already filmed.
Who it's for
Never practiced a single strike? Foundation assumes nothing. We teach the stance before the kick, the breath before the power.
Skip the beginner path and pick up where you left off: drill fundamentals with intent, sharpen forms at a high level, keep your own practice. Mabu challenges you at your level — healthy, but hard.

Your teacher
Mabu is taught by Julian Jacobi — trained at the Shaolin temple and a well-known name in the scene. Judo at five, Kung Fu at eight, the monastery at eighteen: four years of training at Shaolin Temple Europe, then training in China. Today he teaches at his own school in Wuppertal — the same way he learned it himself: from the stance up.
One handwriting instead of changing faces: over the weeks you learn how he explains things — and that's why you truly understand them.
